BARN MANAGER

Shannon is a graduate from Lake Erie College, she has Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, and a double minor in both marketing and equine. She is also equine massage certified. Shannon has been riding since she was 6 years old, and has 10+ years of employment experience working in a wide variety of barns in both Ohio and Missouri. Throughout the years she has gained experience and is proficient in handling every level of horses including stallions and yearlings.

BARN MANAGER

Nicole began working with horses shortly after the passing of her father. During this difficult time, horses brought her comfort, purpose, and passion that has continued to grow. Nicole is a barn manager here at Cornerstone, she is dedicated to the care and well-being of the horses and the people who work with them. Certified in both human and equine first aid, Nicole is truly a jack of all trades, always ready to fix build or figure out just about anything around the barn. Her dedication, resourcefulness, and love for horses makes her an essential part of the Cornerstone team.

Lu has 30+ years of horse experience. Her experience includes English and Western-style riding and years of experience at multiple facilities. Lu assists in maintaining all aspects of Cornerstone Horse Ranch with a specialty in ranch beautification.

Kaylee has over 10 years of horse experience, both in and out of the saddle. She has worked at several barns in Northeast Ohio, and is currently a student at Lake Erie College. Kaylee currently boards her paint mare, Savannah, at Cornerstone, and has spent the past 5 years rehabbing and retraining her. Currently, she enjoys trail riding and competing in low level drassage.

Nick brings experience working at a race track; handling horses, grooming and cleaning stalls. He enjoyed riding years ago and is currently enjoying working with horses part time again and learning more about equine management.

Faith has been around horses the majority of her life. She has experience in the fundamentals of English and Western riding, and has worked at a variety of local facilities with experience in: tacking, stalls, turn-in/out, and feeding. Faith is excited to become more proficient in equine management, equine psychology, and other advanced horsemanship facets.

Morgan attends Chardon High School. Her hobbies include horseback riding and showing horses. She shows in Dressage, Stadium Jumping, and Cross Country. She has been riding for 7 years and rides mostly English but also a little bit of Western. She is experienced in turning out, feeding, and mucking stalls. She enjoys being around horses and she has acquired a lot of knowledge in the 7 years she has been riding.

Mikayla attends Chardon High School and has been riding since she was 7 years old. She loves being outside, spending time with animals, and volleyball. Mikayla has been riding English for five years and Western for one. She enjoys Hunter Jumper and started competing in shows when she was only 8. Mikayla has a variety of barn experience and helps with all aspects of horse care including cleaning stalls, feeding and turnout.

Ava has over 15 years of experience riding, handling, and caring for horses. Being around horses has always brought her a sense of peace and a deep appreciation for the unique bond between horse and rider. She primarily focuses on dressage and jumping; and loves the oppurtunity to work with new horses. Nothing comes between her and the unconditional love she has for these incredible animals.

Lily started riding horses when she was six years old and quickly fell in love with them and the horse community. She has a lot of experience caring for horses and riding both English and Western. Much of what she’s learned has come from taking care of her own horse, Whiskey. Lily is currently working as a ranch hand at Cornerstone, where she continues to learn and grow every day. The Cornerstone community has been very important to her, and she’s grateful for the support and opportunities it has given her. In the future, Lily hopes to continue learning about horses and plans to study in college to become an equine veterinarian.

Alice is a sophmore at Riverside High School with four years of experience working with horses. Through her time around horses, she has developed strong skills in both English riding and ground handling. She is knowledgeable in daily horse care, including feeding, turn-in and turn-out, tacking, and stall cleaning. Working with animals has always been a passion of hers, and she is excited to see where her future takes her, hoping horses will always remain a part of her life.

Mya has been riding horses for 8 years and has spent 5 of those years working in barns. She is a barn manager at a summer camp, where she also teaches riding lessons. Mya has several years of experience working with individuals with special needs and attended Lake Erie College for CCP, taking classes focused on helping individuals with special needs participate in riding. She plans to pursue her PATH certification in the future to further her ability to support individuals through theraputic riding.
